Environmental courses
The School of Environmental Sciences is a centre of excellence in teaching and research in environmental studies and currently offers undergraduate degrees in Environmental Science, Geography and Marine Science with Postgraduate courses in both On-Campus and in Distance Learning modes. Our student community consists of 350 undergraduates, 250 postgraduate students and 20 PhD students.
Research within the school is of local, national and international significance, spanning diverse research areas such as Coastal and Marine Research, Maritime Archaeology, Freshwater Sciences, Geography, Geophysics, Landscape and Natural Sciences and Quaternary Environmental Change. Our research transfers directly into our teaching, ensuring that our students remain up to date and competitive. In recognition of this we have been awarded a rating of excellent by HEFCE and the UK.s Quality Assurance Agency, and our courses ranked in the top 4 for student satisfaction in the National (UK) Student Survey.
